As some of you know, I have been working tirelessly on a project the past few months.

A project I’ve been pouring my heart and passion into as I figure out the ins and outs of a territory I’ve never tread.

A project called Metal Saints.
⠀
The name holds significance as it is derived from a few strong influences and powerful experiences I’ve had the pleasure of being present throughout my life.
⠀
First off, Metal. A salute of course to the culture surrounding metal music. Music that makes your heart race and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up like you’re readying for war. A culture comprised of ambitious badasses who celebrate and embrace one another’s differences and unique qualities; A group of people that invite you to be the oddball that you are and want nothing more than to headbang by your side.

Metal also holds significance as a reference to the iron house, aka my personal Mecca. A holy place where I can center myself in solitude and reflect on troubles or take some time to simply clear my mind while focusing on nothing but the movement and forcing my body to continue performing despite my mind’s efforts to falsely set limitations.

It is also a home where I can immerse myself in community that genuinely promotes mental and psychical growth. A safe place. A place where success is defined by any variety of improvement and all your friends are there to clap for you.

To stay Metal, is to invite nothing but growth, inclusion and sunshine into your life as you continue to knock down barriers both seen and unseen.

Then there is Saints.
⠀
The latter half of the name was influenced by the most important woman in my life, my mom. The woman I look up to most for being an ambitious badass with the warmest presence. A woman of strong will and sound judgement.
⠀
Growing up, she would remind me from time to time: go through this life causing as little harm to yourself and others. Keep a kind heart and be resilient as hell.
⠀
To me, this was what it meant to be saintly.
